Black and white with timber floors is always a great combo, as is beautifully demonstrated in this contemporary style kitchen.
Colour palette selections were centered around the stunning Dolomite benchtop, a natural stone very much in demand at the moment. Whilst natural stones require sealing and a little extra care, they are certainly worth the effort (and usually extra cost), for the stunning effect they impart.
The open bookshelf at the island breaks up the monotone nicely and provides handy storage for cookbooks. Plenty of seating was a must, and allows those sitting at the island to not only interact with the cook, but also enjoy the outlook to the outdoor entertaining area, and almost feel part of it when the doors are open.
The floating storage to the left of the island adds an interesting design element, as opposed to a regular floor to ceiling format. The open shelf with LED light-strip enhances the look and creates ambience in the space at night.
Using white cabinetry as the backdrop for the main kitchen, emphasises the island, the floating storage, as well as the benchtop and splashback, which are the ‘heroes’ in this design.
Practical elements have also been included, such as pull-out caddies for condiments, large integrated fridge, oven and microwave tower, and large double-bowl sink.
