This black beauty replaced a 20 year old , poorly laid out, typical poly white kitchen with nondescript stone top, which we in the trade politely refer to as a ‘developer’s kitchen’.
The new, beautifully seductive black kitchen is a perfect example of a designer doing their job – listening to the client, expertly interpreting and advising, then designing to create a perfect result. Expert fabrication and installation, naturally played their part too.
The brief was to have integrated appliances in black, an island with a real ‘WOW’ factor clad in stone, better work flow and handle-less black cabinetry.
To achieve this, the beauty of the deep, dark and bold Caesarstone Black Tempal benchtop, was perfectly teamed with the Laminex Absolute Matt Black. The various metallic finishes also add their design notes and create the right amount of interest to enrich the look.
The choice of warm timber for the flooring and accessories also soften the look and pick up on some of the warm mineral veins of the stone.
The richly luxurious look is further enhanced with the careful choice of quality appliances, including a V-Zug integrated coffee machine, oven and cooktop, and a Vintec wine fridge. The imposing Fisher & Paykel Quad Door Fridge/Freezer with water and ice maker completes the look with its beautiful matt black glass finish and recessed handles.
On the practical side, a Kessebohmer pull-out pantry was selected for ergonomic storage, and integration of the laundry with bifold doors to fit in seamlessly with the kitchen all assist in facilitating the work flow of the space.
LED under cabinet strip-lighting and Blum Legrabox drawers and hinges ensure ease of use and add to the lasting quality and longevity of this designer kitchen.
