Kitchen Laundry and Ensuite Renovation

The lucky owners of this beautiful kitchen chose Nouvelle as we were able to accommodate all their renovation needs: removal of some walls to make the kitchen ‘open-plan’, thereby creating an attractive yet practical kitchen, as well as a laundry/bathroom.
The kitchen was designed in the Transitional style with a definite lean to modern. It beautifully demonstrates how the choice of each design element can affect the overall ‘flavour’ of the design.
The Shaker style doors and subway tiles echo a traditional style, whilst the choice of appliances, light fittings and bar stools clearly add a much more contemporary vibe.
The choice of a darker colour bar-back, perfectly balances the dark, streamlined light fitting. Similarly, the stools bounce off the dark framed windows and doors, sink and tap, stove, and ovens. Choosing a light fabric for the stools helps to make the look a bit softer and warmer. These work wonderfully against the Talostone Imperial Danby marble-look engineered stone, as well as against the cabinets, which were done in a colour to match Laminex Oyster Grey. This colour adds a beautiful depth to the tone of the overall look, and looks fabulous against the timber of the floor.
Adding their own interest to the look, are the lovely raked timer ceilings and black-framed doors and windows. The lighter oak-style flooring also softens the look, and proves that you can have different toned timbers in the same space.
Not only a delight to look at, this kitchen is also packed with features such as a generous pantry with inner-drawers, beverage and snack prep area behind bi-fold doors, pull-out spice rack next to the stove, as well as a handy pull-out bin and loads of drawers.
Wave-lift wall units not only make for easier access, they also provide additional horizontal lines echoing the splashback, light fitting and island.
The laundry was kept efficient and serviceable. To create cohesiveness, the same colour used for the kitchen barback (Laminex Lava Grey) was used for the laundry.
A similar colour palette was selected for the bathroom. To make the room look as spacious as possible, a shower blade and light tiles were selected for most of the wall. The soft ‘greige’ feature tiles and the timber vanity add interest and warmth. The oval mirror adds a little retro touch that lightens the mood of the look beautifully.
Happy clients indeed!
