Additionally, it is a wonderful example of how a basic ‘white kitchen’ can be transformed and taken to the next level by selecting carefully consider elements surrounding the joinery. In particular, a splashback that commands attention and helps to tie-in surrounding decor colours, perfectly complements a house which is not your typical, standard four square walls. The pretty and quirky treatment of the splashback respects and harmonises with the ‘out-of-the-ordinary’ characteristics of the room around it, like, for instance, the natural timber post. This was retained as it is unique, not often seen, and a very attractive element in the home.
The kitchen is not only lovely, it also boast loads of great features, such as generous benchspace and storage, beautiful 900 farmhouse style cooker and an ample fridge. Inner drawers in the pantry make accessing items a breeze.
The laundry is an exercise in understated yet elegant design, to ensure the rather tight confines do not appear cramped.
For the bathroom a more colourful approach was selected to create a beautiful bathing experience. The curved theme flows through into the bathroom with the mirror, shower blade and bathtub. Wall niches make for extra interest, as well as a practical application. Heated towel rails and a double vanity add a touch of extra luxury and further enhance the look of the space. Note how the lighted mirror echoes the light above the breakfast bar in the kitchen – attention to detail indeed!
The renovation also included the removal of a wall, as well as a practical walk-in-robe, custom-built to suit the irregular architecture.
