This bathroom is a wonderful example of the hybrid style – where traditional meets modern in a totally harmonious way. The modern touches start with the colour and form of the handles and tapware and fittings. The cement look floor tiles and large format marble look wall tiles, the form of the bath and basins, as well as the wall to wall mirror, continue that theme. The Shaker doors of the vanity and the subway tiles laid in a herringbone pattern, add subtle, yet firm nods to the traditional style. The wall hung vanity with hidden kickboard lighting, as well as the large wall to wall design, with double counter top basins, also contribute to the contemporary look. The black and white palette lends itself to either a very traditional and classic way of decorating or a more modern cutting edge look, so the monochromatic colour scheme was the perfect choice to create a sophisticated and timeless look. Other special features include: wall niche above the semi-built-in bath, with hidden lighting, shower on rail plus rain-shower, and a hidden cistern. A cavity sliding door was added to allow for a generous heated towel rail. The bulkhead above the mirror makes for a very professional installation and allows the lighting to be closer to the task areas.
