Almond and Chocolate Lover’s Torte
Ingredients:
4 eggs
4 tablespoons sugar
125g dark chocolate
6 tablespoons ground almonds
Icing
300ml cream
125g dark chocolate
Method:
1. Seperate eggs from yolks.
2. Combine yolks and sugar until just mixed.
3. Melt chocolate.
4. Add melted chocolate to yolk and sugar mix.
5. Add almonds.
6. Beat egg whites to stiff peaks.
7. Gently fold egg whites into chocolate mixture.
8. Gently pour mix into greased cake tin.
9. Bake torte at 180°c for 50 minutes.
10. Allow cake to cool.
11. Topping: Whip cream and spread over cake.
12. Melt chocolate to lukewarm.
13. Pour chocolate over cream, gently folding with a fork to create a marbling effect.
14. Quickly place in fridge to help chocolate set.
